John Stonborough FCIPR

John Stonborough specialises in media relations, the hostile broadcast media and media regulation. He was an award-winning journalist and was, up until 2004, the Media Adviser to the Speaker and House of Commons Commission (UK Parliament).  His exceptional career also sees him as Managing Director of Stonborough Media Group and Air Supremacy Ltd, a media training company.  As one of the UK’s leading authorities on media relations, John has attracted a wide range of corporate and private clients from around the world, including Absolut Vodka, Asda Wal-Mart, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Barclays Bank, Phorm, Savills and the world’s largest
re-insurer Swiss Re.

Background

John, having started his career as a London policeman, then moved on to become a reporter for the Daily Mail, BBC Radio 4, Thames Television and Channel 4 Television.  His dedication and interest in media relations can also been seen in his online blog Caution: May Contain Traces of Humour with observations and commentaries on a wide range of communication related subjects, including language, journalism, public relations, media codes, the law, gadgets and innovation.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
